hey :) I’m Axel. I’m reading Computer Science and Philosophy at St John’s College, Oxford, currently on leave to build Prism, an AI recruiting company I co-founded. We’re trying to help people get jobs in the age of AI, and along the way we’ve built the best people search in the world for recruiting.

I like working across things rather than down into one. I used to think that was a purely academic pull - toward where formal systems, philosophy, and AI meet, Gödel and Turing especially, decision theory under uncertainty, and what these results actually mean once you take them seriously. Turns out it applies to work too: I’ve loved building Prism from the marketing and design to getting deep in the technical weeds, but I’m also drawn to other technical areas like alternative data research for trading.

I grew up between Paris and London, and speak three languages, which is occasionally useful and frequently annoying to everyone around me when I pronounce camembert with a French accent. Outside work I draw, play piano, used to run track, and talk about more philosophy of mind than is strictly necessary. I have a Siberian cat named Lara, who has the better life.
